About Sam
I am an experienced Engineering graduate with a strong academic background and many years applying Mathematics and Science to projects in my career. I am highly numerate and literate, with good communication and IT skills.
I am a laid-back person but very professional and dedicated to each student’s learning. Whilst new to tutoring, I have successfully taught concepts to friends, family and work colleagues across a range of ages, helping to improve their confidence with Maths, Science and IT.
My approach is very patient and looks to ensure the student develops a good understanding of topics, to provide belief in their abilities moving forward rather than limiting them to simply getting over the line for a particular exam.
I aim to work with each student to tailor lessons to their needs and learning style, recognising that everybody is different and some struggle more than others. I am also passionate to dispel the theory that some individuals “just can’t do” certain subjects, and am most determined to improve the confidence of those that believe, or have been convinced by others, that they are in this category.
Whilst focusing on Maths and Science, I am also able to help out with IT topics and skills and have many years experience coaching junior cricket.
