About Fiona
I bring over 8 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Science in Orchestral Studies, where I served as a Violin Section Leader. My background blends orchestral precision with modern musical exploration. Discipline and creativity go hand in hand.
I use technology to accelerate learning. Slow-down apps clarify fast passages, while DAWs and MIDI notation provide clear visual and audio feedback. Video reviews highlight subtle improvements.
This is especially useful for students recording violin parts for original tracks or covers. We refine layering, harmonies, and expressive phrasing. Studio work builds listening skills.
I am passionate about Jazz Violin, Rock Strings, and Indie Folk genres. Improvisation is taught step by step using custom backing tracks. Expression feels natural and free.

I integrate music theory directly into violin practice so students understand every sound they produce. Technique and theory work together. Strong roots matter.
Scales and keys are mapped carefully across the strings. Intervals are practiced in different positions to build awareness. Theory becomes physical.
Chord structures are taught through arpeggios, double stops, and harmonic breakdown of repertoire. Students see the bigger picture. Music feels organized.

For exam candidates, I create clear step-by-step preparation plans with scale mastery and sight-reading focus. Aural recognition is trained consistently.
