About Benedict
I am a VFX graduate (1st class, MMU) and professional (Dock10) with a background in Physics, Maths and Computer Science. In my own work I combine these topics, producing physical simulations and performing complex vector maths in my code. When teaching I enjoy showing the practical uses for these topics, and students engage more intensely with the experimentation capable during computer science lessons.

I have experience tutoring Physics, Computer Science and Maths, and enjoy utilising maths to power my work. I typically run hour-long lessons for anyone in year 10 through 13, catering for GCSE and A level exams. I understand that maths is often a difficult subject for students to broach, whether that be due to anxiety or boredom; my goal is to help pupils overcome these obstacles with carefully scaffolded and engaging lessons that show them the different ways maths can be used. I aim to integrate my tutoring with the school's curriculum to consolidate and then enhance students' learning. I want to empower students and build their confidence. To help students get the grade they need, I sandwich taught content with examples and exam-style practice questions. Being familiar with the exam format and how to tackle multi-step interleaved questions is key to succeeding at GCSE. I am also able to offer lessons in VFX and computer science for anyone that is interested in starting in those fields. I am available for online lessons only.
