About Lacey
I am a passionate guitar tutor with 11 years of experience in band coaching and ensemble leadership. I hold a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on guitar, giving me a strong foundation in both performance and teaching. My approach emphasizes not only individual technique but also collaborative musicianship. I guide students in playing together, arranging covers, and composing original songs. Whether you are interested in acoustic, electric, or bass guitar, I adapt lessons to suit your style and goals. I help students develop confidence in group settings and learn to communicate effectively within a band. My teaching extends to practical experiences such as starting your own band, organizing live performances, and recording demos. I encourage creativity while maintaining structure, helping students explore their musical voice. Lessons include hands-on practice, music theory, and real-world applications to ensure well-rounded growth. I also provide guidance on stage presence, rehearsal planning, and developing a cohesive sound with other musicians. Each session is designed to inspire, challenge, and nurture your passion for music. Together, we will build musical synergy, bringing your ideas to life and achieving your goals as a guitarist and performer.

My teaching approach is designed to help students of all levels, from beginners to advanced players, build a strong foundation in guitar. I focus on technique, rhythm, and finger strength while introducing students to music theory to understand how songs are constructed. I incorporate both classical and modern styles, helping students explore the rich diversity of guitar music.
I use modern tools like digital tuners, metronomes, and recording apps to make practice more effective and engaging. Lessons are personalized to match each student’s goals, whether they aim to perform on stage, compose their own music, or improve their overall skills. I encourage creative expression, guiding students to develop their own style and sound.
Foundational skills are emphasized, including sight-reading, chord progressions, scales, and improvisation. I break down complex pieces into manageable sections so students can learn step by step. I also integrate rhythm training and ear development to strengthen musical intuition.
Every lesson is interactive, fun, and focused on building confidence. I support students in mastering challenging techniques while nurturing their passion for guitar. By combining structured practice with creative exploration, I help students excel and enjoy the journey of learning music.
