About Amelie
HI! I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Secondary Education at the University of Sydney, with a strong passion for English and education. I plan to become a high school English teacher, as I love helping students develop confidence in their writing, critical thinking, and communication skills. I’m deeply passionate about the role education plays in shaping young people’s futures and strive to create supportive, engaging learning environments. Outside of my studies, I’m a cat lover and have three cats!

My approach to tutoring is student-centered, structured, and supportive. I draw on the skills and strategies I am learning through my Secondary Education degree to design lessons that are clear, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I have experience working with students of all abilities, including children with disabilities such as autism, and I prioritize creating a calm, inclusive environment where students feel confident asking questions and taking academic risks.
Lessons typically run for 1–2 hours, depending on the student’s needs and goals. I focus on building strong foundational understanding, exam technique, and independent study skills, particularly for senior students.
I have two and a half years of tutoring experience, both through a tutoring company and at Newington College. My lessons are designed for secondary students in Years 7–12, with a particular specialization in Years 11–12 and senior exam preparation.
