As an experienced English teacher, Literacy Coordinator, and exam board marker, I bring a well-rounded and insightful approach to tutoring. My teaching philosophy centres on recognising each student’s unique learning style and helping them achieve their goals through personalised, targeted support.
Having led literacy initiatives, I understand the importance of strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking, and I incorporate these into every lesson. I tailor each session to meet my students’ specific needs—whether they’re preparing for exams, building confidence, or aiming to excel in English literature. My experience marking for exam boards also means that I’m well-versed in exam requirements and expectations, and I use this insight to guide students towards success with practical tips and strategies.
I create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel comfortable tackling challenges and growing step-by-step. Through regular feedback, tailored exercises, and open discussions, I help students develop the skills and confidence they need to excel—not only in exams but in all their academic pursuits. My ultimate goal is to foster a lasting appreciation for English and support students on their journey to success.
