About Mishka Bosch

Hi students, I am Mishka Bosch a undergraduate student studying Bachelor of Education and very passionate about teaching. I did not plan on tutoring as I am still a student myself, however it has started as an alternative income so I am able to afford and complete my own degree. I love teaching when students are curious, and my classes are interactive, where I give complete freedom for students to ask questions and then further delve into more profound theories and co-relate with practical and day-to-day scenarios. I believe in creating a holistic environment enabling students own critical thinking and have worked with students of all types from students whose concepts are weaker to extremely bright student. For reading comprehension sections, we do careful analysis and discuss before proceeding to questions and suitable choices. Out of 4 options, first, we eliminate the wrong choice; Second eliminate which looks to be the deliberately wrong choice; Third elimination is even more tempting wrong choice, and finally, we select the Best Answer. For doing, all these works, I do back-seat and assist students in developing critical ability and logical thinking. I have helped students to improve vocabulary building, and after a few sessions in a month, students have started speaking English with less hesitation and have gain confidence. I am confident in my skills and determination that I will provide you with all the necessary tools to equip you to succeed and fulfill all your goals. About the lesson

Schools and universities focus on conveying a large amount of information to their students, but for most people that is not enough to create genuine understanding and an ability to answer exam questions. I am fluent in English and Afrikaans and students an expect in a lesson to start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I don’t lecture to students or ask them to memorise things, nor do I do the students’ homework for them! I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student’s understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as essay structure and technique, logical thought, reading, critical thinking, literature, test prep and the effective use of numbers and graphs. My aim as a tutor is to create a holistic environment enabling my students to have a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems. My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves. My experience has been that one-to-one personal tuition has a unique value to students because of the ability to resolve the students’ personal barriers to learning in a way that lays the foundations for a deep and lasting understanding of the subject.
