About Will
I have been fascinated by Mathematics since a young age and still find it exciting and entertaining - yes it is possible.
I am convinced that anyone can "do it" with the right approach to developing their understanding and skills and bring that attitude to my teaching and have had the pleasure of teaching pupils across a wide range of abilities.
I have home educated both of my sons, the eldest started Chichester College to study A levels this year (2018) with excellent GCSE results and the youngest (12) is still enjoying learning.
I split my week between Waterlooville and Chichester so am able to offer tutorials in either areas.
I have taught Mathematics at both private and state schools and given home tutorials on and off for 25 years and have a Masters degree in Mathematics from Oxford University and a teaching qualification (PGCE).
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is very much based upon the needs, abilities and desires of the student, you will very often be the person most able to identify what needs to be done.
I offer a free introductory tutorial to make an initial assessment, and you of me! There is no committment but after chatting you may wish to book regular tutorials in which we might undertake a full study of the syllabus, or focus on known areas of weakness, or just follow and support your work at school/college as seems best to achieve your aims.
I would be continuously assessing your abilties, identifying knowledge gaps or areas that need work on and trying to improve your understanding in them - understanding is the key, not memorising formulas - they come easily if you understand what is going on.
