About Steven
I am a business graduate who has managed a successful family business along side my studies. Since my graduation I have been involved in tutoring adults seeking a return to education. Currently I am teaching a bookkeeping module to students on a part time basis. Alongside this commitment I am supervising a secondary school lunch period and am in the process of becoming a substitute teacher. I have recently become a member of the teachers council of Ireland

I try to identify each individual students most proficient way of learning and tailor my approach to meet their needs. I am a firm believer that to fully engage with a struggling student you must relate the curriculum to a real world example they can comprehend easily. From this point you can build a teaching point that suits their real world experience. This method also can build the students confidence in investing what you are trying to get across to them. It is important to gain a trust from the student so they feel you are trying your best to make the material as relevant to their life as much as possible. Once you earn this buy in, they become much more receptive to what subject a teacher is trying to get across.
