About Pamela
- What kind of experience do you have? I have taught for many years as a class teacher in secondary schools and also special schools (for children with moderate learning difficulties and also for children with emotional and behavioural problems). During my last years of teaching I worked as a Supply Teacher. I have therefore gained experience in Primary schools as well as in Secondary establishments. For the last three years I have been a One to One Tutor at Stockport Academy, where I taught Maths GCSE and also at Hazel Grove High School, where I taught both Maths and English at Key Stage 3 and English at Key Stage 4. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? Yes - Where and with whom did you train? City of Manchester College of Higher Education (Mather site) - Tell me about some of your current students. My last students attended an Academy in Stockport, where I was on a team of One to One Tutors for Maths GCSE. I also did One to One tuition at two other High Schools in Stockport. The funding for the schools to employ tutors has since ended, which is why I am now advertising for private pupils. My students all gained in confidence and improved their grades.

I have had many years' experience teaching in both primary, secondary and special schools, but have recently retired from the classroom. I wish to continue my work as a tutor. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I am able to teach French and Maths to GCSE and English to Key Stage 3. - Tell me about your qualifications. I have a B. Ed Degree (Manchester University), main subject French, Maths subsidiary. - How much do you charge? I charge £25 per hour for pupils in the Stockport area for GCSE, £25 for Key Stage 3 and below, but I may charge extra for travel expenses, depending on the distance I have to travel. I am prepared to teach a small group, but will add on 10% per child. - Where do you teach? I am prepared to teach both in my own home, but am willing to travel up to 5 miles, which covers most of Stockport, Poynton, High Lane, Disley and New Mills. - When are you available? Evenings and daytime on most days. - Which ages and levels do you teach? Age 7 upwards to GCSE, adults also. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? GCSE and 11 plus entry for private schools - Describe your arrangements for online tutoring. I have SKYPE on my computer - Do you have a personal message for students? It is my aim to build up the confidence of my students. Some students find it difficult in a class situation to grasp the basics and I know I can help them overcome their problems. Just that bit of extra time and help soon enables them to improve their grades in school and make the difference between a Grade D and a C.
