About Maciek
I have recently graduated from a PhD at University of Oxford. I did plenty of teaching as part of my degree and have enjoyed it immensely. It gives me great satisfaction to understand the thinking process of different students and adapt my teaching methods accordingly. Even more rewarding is seeing the progress in the abilities of my students.

I have been teaching in a variety of settings - individual, small (2-3 students) groups as well as larger ones (8-10) - at University of Oxford (since 2017) and at Imperial College London before that. My goal when teaching is for the students to develop deep understanding through intuitive explanations and plenty of examples. Depending on the complexity of the content, a lesson would typically last between 1 and 2 hours, occasionally exceeding that limit. I'm comfortable teaching math up to high school level; my specialty is pure math, particularly combinatorics, algebra, geometry, probability. I have participated in Mathematics Olympiad with successes on national level, which allowed me to master rigorous proofs - something I'd be keen to share with my students. I also teach programming; I developed strong foundations at university and I'm proficient at both functional (Haskell, OCaml) and object oriented (Java, Python, Scala) programming, as well as Javascript, HTML.
