About Huw
Graduated with a 2:1 BA from Worcester College, Oxford. 12 A*s at GCSE, 3 As at A-level (Latin, Maths, English Literature). I’m hugely passionate about the classical world and helping students to explore texts, ancient and modern, in a way that is understandable and engaging. I have considerable experience in tutoring and summer school teaching.

I aim to provide flexible and focused lessons that are specifically tailored to the individual needs of the student.
For Latin, this often starts with targeted work on grammar and syntax before moving our way up to extended translation, complex sentence structures and closer analysis of selected prose and verse texts. We might also discuss particular features of different genres or authors, especially if in relation to exam set texts.
I offer Ancient History tutoring for multiple periods, with specialities in Imperial Rome (including Art and Religions). Likewise for English Literature to A-level, where I can offer assistance on close literary analysis techniques and discussion on the different ways to think about set texts.
For A-level students I also provide advice on the Oxbridge admissions process and entrance exam.
