About Leigh
I am an enthusiastic Spanish tutor with 12+ years of teaching experience, working with High School and College students who want to improve their language skills. During this time, I have successfully taught around 150 students through personalised lessons that focus on confidence, communication, and continuous improvement.
My teaching philosophy is based on creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and practising without fear of making mistakes. I teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, speaking, and listening using simple explanations, interactive activities, and practical examples from everyday life.
Every lesson encourages students to participate actively through conversations, role-playing, reading exercises, quizzes, and revision sessions. I believe consistent practice is the most effective way to master a language, so I motivate students to continue learning outside the classroom through books, music, and videos.
Helping students improve their examination performance and communication skills has been one of my biggest achievements. Many learners have developed confidence in speaking Spanish and discovered a genuine interest in learning the language.
I aim to create lessons that inspire curiosity and build lasting confidence. My goal is to help students become independent learners who continue improving their Spanish long after our lessons are completed.

My Spanish teaching approach combines structure, creativity, and personal connection to foster effective and enjoyable learning. Accountability is at the core, ensuring students stay committed to their goals, regularly reflect on progress, and actively engage in the learning process.
With Integrity, I provide lessons that are fair, honest, and adapted to each learner’s unique needs, fostering trust and reliability in our sessions. I embrace Flexibility, modifying lesson plans, activities, and teaching methods to match individual learning styles, interests, and progress, making each session meaningful and engaging.
Communication is essential—I encourage dialogue, discussions, and interactive exercises, allowing students to internalise Spanish naturally while gaining confidence in speaking and comprehension. Through Positivity, I create a supportive environment where learners feel motivated, empowered, and excited to explore the language.
In addition to Spanish, I teach relevant subjects such as grammar, literature, and cultural studies, enabling students to connect language with real-world applications. My ultimate goal is to help students achieve fluency, appreciate the richness of the language, and develop lifelong enthusiasm for Spanish.
