About Vishani
I have been selected for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) this year. I completed the Health Sciences First Year (HSFY) course at the University of Otago (2024) with an overall average of 97%. I completed the IB Diploma at school (2023) receiving an overall 38/45. If wanted I am willing to tutor in NCEA Level 1 subjects.
HSFY papers: CHEM191, HUBS191, CELS191, HUBS192, BIOC192, STATS115
IB Diploma subjects: Biology (HL), Chemistry (HL), Maths AI (SL)
NCEA Level 1 subjects: General Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and Maths

I focus on tailoring each lesson to the student's needs, strengths, and learning style. My approach is interactive, allowing students to ask questions freely and ensuring they feel comfortable with the material at every step. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, which I find is ideal for maintaining focus without overwhelming the student. However, for younger students or specific needs, I can adjust to shorter (30-45 minutes) or longer sessions (up to 90 minutes). I have done peer-tutoring in the past for students and I have completed the IB diploma and Health Sciences First Year course therefore I believe I have a good knowledge foundation. My lessons would be designed for high school students as well as students undertaking Health Sciences First Year in Otago. I am happy to do in-person lessons over the summer break, and then online classes next year.
