About John
I was a merit scholar in chemistry at Virginia Tech and have worked for the Nation Science Foundation as a medicinal organic chemist, as well as a researcher in protein mimic design, and currently run a medicinal plant sanctuary I established. I have tutored students going into health care through general and organic chemistry, and as well as high school students in AP calculus and general chemistry for college credit.

My methodology toward teaching math and science is to remove the assumptions that I have found most students have that inhibit them before they even begin their studies. That math and sciences are something that you have to be born a genius in order to do well in and that they aren't relevant to their everyday experience. I show students that these concepts are relevant and useful to everybody and the befits to their daily experiences by teaching them how to integrate seemingly complex ideas into simple solutions to everyday problems.

John was very thorough in his approach. He first tested my child in different ways to understand his math skills. He then made it fun and interesting to learn algebra and then calculus. I have a set charge for web lessons which is my best rate, and would need to set in person rates based on my travel requirements. I am extremely flexible if a student must cancel, so long as I receive notice that I am not needed that day.
