About Latoya
PhD candidacy at MIT provides a unique analytical lens through which I view the intricacies of calculus. My career began with a desire to dismantle the barriers students face when approaching area and volume or definite integrals.
I have now supported 496 students in mastering subjects ranging from integration by parts to complex differential equations. Students who feel stuck on sequences and series or various optimization problems often find my method provides the missing context. During your first session, you will notice that I avoid formula memorization in favor of understanding why a specific integral behaves the way it does. We will analyze your current approach to exam technique breakdowns per topic to identify exactly where your logic falters. You will find that I push you to think like a mathematician by asking questions that force you to justify every step of your work. This process is essential for grasping the nuances of definite integrals and complex differential equations.
Because I am a PhD candidate at MIT, I bring a level of rigor that translates even the most abstract concepts into concrete applications. We will spend our time building a robust toolkit that handles everything from basic derivatives to advanced series.
