About ALPHY

As a Long-Term Occasional Teacher at Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB), I am responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive lessons to students from diverse backgrounds and abilities. I collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure the academic and social development of the students. With a Bachelor of Education degree from Mahatma Gandhi University and a Master of Science degree in Plant Biology from Madras Christian College, I have a strong background in natural sciences and a keen interest in plant biotechnology. I have also worked as an Early Childhood Educator at Fairy Glen Day Care Centre and an Assistant Professor at KE College, where I gained valuable experience in early childhood education and higher education. My core competencies are communication, creativity, and collaboration. My mission is to become an adept researcher and an innovative teacher. With years of experience as a dedicated tutor, I have developed a deep passion for helping students succeed. I specialize in Science at all academic levels and Mathematics for primary and secondary students, and I genuinely take pride in making these subjects engaging, understandable, and enjoyable. Teaching is more than a profession to me — it’s a calling. Every student I meet brings a unique set of talents and challenges, and guiding them toward their academic goals is a deeply rewarding experience. I believe in unlocking potential, nurturing curiosity, and helping students grow not just academically, but personally. My teaching style is rooted in patience, encouragement, and flexibility. I aim to create a supportive and friendly learning environment where students feel safe to express themselves, ask questions freely, and make mistakes without fear. I don’t just teach — I listen, understand, and adapt my methods to suit each student's individual learning needs. I strive to build genuine connections with my students — relationships based on trust, mutual respect, and encouragement. I see each student not just as a learner, but as a partner in a shared journey of growth. This personalized and friendly approach fosters confidence, motivation, and a lasting love for learning. Whether you're struggling with a topic or aiming to excel even further, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Let’s work together to make learning a truly enjoyable and fulfilling experience
