About William
I’m William Bull, a dedicated English teacher and Head of Department at a secondary SEN school. Beyond academia, I’m passionate about helping young people grow—not just academically, but as individuals with confidence and independence. My teaching philosophy centres on creating meaningful, adaptable lessons that equip students with essential skills for life. I specialise in breaking down barriers to learning, fostering a love of reading, and guiding pupils towards success in their exams and beyond. Outside of teaching, I find balance in nature as a keen gardener. Much like education, gardening teaches patience, resilience, and the joy of nurturing growth—qualities I carry into my work with students. Whether in the classroom or outdoors, I believe in empowering young people to become the best versions of themselves.

About My Lessons I am a secondary school English Teacher and Coordinator with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), specialising in Special Educational Needs (SEN) education. My lessons are structured yet adaptable, ensuring students feel supported while making steady progress in their English skills. Each session includes carefully designed assessments and reading tasks to identify strengths and areas for improvement. I help students grasp fundamental reading concepts, including decoding and encoding words to strengthen spelling and comprehension. Exam preparation is also a key focus, equipping pupils with strategies to excel academically. Writing Structure & Composition I am highly experienced in teaching writing structure, helping students refine essay organisation, develop clear arguments, and improve grammar and punctuation. Whether working on exam responses, creative writing, or formal reports, I guide learners in expressing their ideas logically and effectively, ensuring clarity and confidence in written communication. My Teaching Style My approach is empathetic yet analytical, breaking down complex topics into accessible lessons tailored to each student's needs. I specialise in adapting the curriculum to support learners facing barriers, fostering a positive relationship with education through engaging and personalised teaching strategies. Whether it’s Functional Skills development, GCSE preparation, literacy improvement, or mastering writing structure, my sessions empower students to develop confidence and achieve their academic goals. Approach English with confidence.
