About Elise
My aim as a tutor is to open my student's minds to new ways of approaching texts, that is not as robotic and restricted as classroom lessons. I want to share my love for English as a subject, and the knowledge I have acquired in my previous and current studies. I seek to improve my students grades, but also find out what works best for their understanding and enjoyment of a text, by using a variety of different study methods that work for different ways of thinking.

I provide lessons to a wide age range of students, from ages 4-18, and teach lessons that are tailored to primary school learning, secondary school learning and GCSE / A Level learning. I am able to teach both English Literature and English Language at GCSE level, and English Literature at A Level. My usual lesson length is 1 hour. I have fairly flexible hours as I work part time alongside my degree.
As an undergraduate student in English Literature, I am willing to tailor my lessons to student's specific needs (including texts I did not necessarily study myself at GCSE / A Level), as my degree has given me the ability to effectively research and understand a wide variety of texts.
