About Alexander
My name is Alex. I have been a concert pianist, musical director and piano teacher for over 10 years, most recently working as Musical Director for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. I was born in Devon, UK.
I teach piano online to a very small number of students. I believe that a teacher and student should have a close relationship together, and I like to work closely with my students in a musical mentorship role.
I love working with absolute beginners and getting them to their desired standard as fast as possible, while ensuring good technique and a foundation in music theory.

I work closely with my students, taking more of a musical mentorship approach rather than just the scheduled music lessons, meaning WhatsApp messages of progress during the week are encouraged!
Piano Lessons - from absolute beginner to grade 8+. I encourage a classical-based education (following the Trinity/ABRSM syllabus), whilst also integrating jazz (playing and improvising using the ear), latin (tumbaos, rhythmic patterns, solfege), and music from other genres. This is combined with the important foundation of piano technique and music theory.
