Hi, I’m Camila, a professional teacher of Portuguese who has been teaching for 2- years. I have a degree in Portuguese Language and Literature and a degree in History with a teaching certificate. I worked at the International School of London and Box Hill School teaching primary and secondary students. I also worked for a number of companies based in London teaching business Portuguese.
I am passionate about teaching and learning. I hold BA in Teaching Portuguese Language and Literature and BA in Teaching History.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching Portuguese for 20 years. Throughout my career as a Portuguese teacher I have worked with students of different levels (from beginners to advanced), age groups, professional backgrounds (managers, engineers, accountants, travel agents, etc.) so I am experienced in teaching General Portuguese, Business Portuguese and Portuguese for Specific Purposes (Portuguese for Tourism, Finance, Oil and Gas, Law, etc.). I have helped my students to make their dreams come true: to be admitted to a university, to get a promotion at work, to find a better job, and to travel.

I can give you lessons for a range of different purposes:
• Everyday Portuguese - improve your knowledge of phrasal verbs, collocations and idioms. Get more fluent and confident in conversation.
Focusing on the spoken language, you will be able to improve your communication with native Portuguese speakers by learning through practice.
• Pronunciation - manage phone calls and Portuguese colleagues better with improved pronunciation
I cover all the essentials of pronunciation. We will look at key issues such as intonation, stress and vowel length. Pronunciation is not only about speaking but also about listening.
I design every lesson around the needs of my students so I will prepare your individual learning journey using only relevant resources.
At the beginning of the course, I will analyse your learning needs and learning style and select those tasks and activities that will make your course most effective. It will focus on skills you need, for example, writing emails, speaking in everyday situations, giving presentations.
In my work, I use active methods (games, problems solving tasks, creative tasks, role plays) and communicative approach which helps my students acquire the Portuguese language easily and with fun.
