About Jacob
I am a physicist and engineer with a PhD from the University of Bristol. I've taught 6 students over a range of different qualifications from GCSE, A-level and International Baccalaureate, helping them raise their grades from Cs to As and most recently helping a GCSE student jump up a set in maths and help them actually enjoy the subject instead of feeling of overwhelmed.

My teaching method focuses on conceptual understanding and teaching students how to approach problems by first assessing the goal of the question, break that down into manageable chunks and then teaching them how to get started using the mathematical toolset they've acquired.
I've found that once pupils "get it" that they are able to learn new concepts much more easily and actually enjoy taking on new problems.

Perfect! Jacob is a great teacher. He's able to explain difficult subjects in an easy way and with good examples. He makes you feel at ease and he's very friendly. He helped me a lot, I really recommend!
- Good student, able to concentrate after a long day and willing to put in the work. Needs to systematically create review sheets of all equations and formulas that come up in the practice questions with a note of what the terms mean (or Google it).Jacob's response :
