She is Orton-Gillingham certified, which means she has received specialized training in a highly effective method of teaching reading, spelling, and writing to individuals with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences.
In addition to her Orton-Gillingham certification, Clara is also an Early Childhood Educator, with a focus on supporting the development of young children's language and literacy skills. As a phonics tutor, my teaching methodology and techniques involve a combination of traditional and innovative approaches to ensure that students understand and master the fundamentals of phonics.
My approach to teaching phonics involves breaking down words into their individual sounds, or phonemes, and teaching students how to blend these sounds together to read and spell words. I also incorporate multisensory activities such as using manipulatives and games to engage students and make the learning process more fun and interactive.
A typical lesson plan would begin with a review of previously learned material, followed by the introduction of new concepts and skills. I would then provide examples and model the skills, allowing students to practice on their own before receiving feedback and support. The lesson would conclude with a review of the new material and any questions or concerns that students may have.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to customize my approach to meet the unique needs of each student. I understand that every learner is different and I strive to create a personalized learning experience that maximizes their potential for success.
