About Sandra
I am a chartered mathematician and an experienced Mathematics teacher and adviser. I have taught across the upper primary and across the full secondary age and ability range. I understand how to achieve success in Mathematics for all students. I understand the common barriers to learning and can use a range of strategies to tackle these.

I know how to structure sessions to gain the best out of my students whether this be in exams or in real life. I have the experience and knowledge to identify the specific topics that students find challenging. I then target these areas to develop deep sustainable understanding, building on what students can already do. I revisit topics to secure this understanding over time using effective formative assessment strategies. I have worked with hundreds of students and understand and can challenge the misconceptions that cause barriers to understanding in mathematics.

Perfect! Sandra tutored my 16 year old daughter for GCSE maths. My daughter was reluctant initially but soon started to look forward to her sessions and was delighted to achieve the grade she needed. Details
My basic rate is £40 per hour for GCSE, and £45 per hour for A'Level. This fee includes targeted interim tasks.
GROUP LESSONS If you can get one or two friends who are working at the same level as you to study with you my rate reduces to £25/35 per person per hour. Not only does this make the lessons more economical it can also be beneficial from an educational point of view. It can give you the opportunity to discuss the mathematics and tackle any misconceptions together in a way that will help you to explore and deepen your understanding.
