About Alex
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic maths tutor with a strong academic background. I achieved 100% in National 5 Maths and an A (Band 1) in Higher Maths, and I currently hold an unconditional offer to study Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh.
I focus on making maths clear and accessible by breaking topics into simple, logical steps. My lessons aim to build both confidence and strong exam performance through structured explanations, guided practice, and exam-focused questions.
I am patient, reliable and adaptable, tailoring my teaching to each student’s needs, whether they require support with understanding core concepts, improving grades, or preparing for exams.
I teach GCSE, National 4,5 and Higher Maths students online via Zoom.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual needs and learning style, focusing on building both confidence and exam performance. I teach GCSE, National 5 and Higher Maths students online via Zoom, using clear step-by-step explanations, structured methods, and plenty of exam-style questions to develop understanding and accuracy.
I achieved 100% in National 5 Maths and an A (Band 1) in Higher Maths, and I have received an unconditional offer to study Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. This strong academic background allows me to explain topics clearly, break down difficult concepts, and show efficient methods for solving exam questions.
A typical lesson lasts between 60 and 90 minutes depending on the student’s needs and goals. Lessons are interactive and focused, usually starting with reviewing key concepts before moving into guided practice and independent questions. I also focus heavily on exam technique, time management, and common question types to help students perform confidently under exam conditions.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE, National 4,5 and Higher Maths students who want to improve their understanding, strengthen weaker areas, or prepare effectively for exams. I aim to make maths clear, structured and approachable for every student.
