About Kseniia
Hi! I’m Kseniia. I have a BSc in Biology from Radboud University and an MSc-level background in Medical Neurobiology, with extensive experience studying chemistry, biochemistry and other biomedical sciences. I enjoy helping students understand chemistry in a way that feels logical rather than overwhelming. Instead of simply memorising formulas, reactions and rules, I focus on explaining why things work, how different concepts connect, and how to approach unfamiliar questions step by step. My background in biology, neuroscience and laboratory research also allows me to connect chemistry to medicine, biology and real scientific applications, which can make abstract topics much easier to understand and remember. I am patient and approachable, and I am happy to explain a concept in different ways until it makes sense. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working through difficult problems without pressure. I teach online in English and Russian.

I offer personalised online Chemistry lessons for middle and secondary school students, as well as students preparing for GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A-level Chemistry. Lessons are adapted to the student's level, curriculum and goals. We can focus on difficult topics, homework, regular school support or structured preparation for tests and exams. Topics can include atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical bonding, equations and reactions, moles and stoichiometry, acids and bases, pH, energetics, rates of reaction, equilibrium, redox reactions, electrochemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry. During lessons, we first identify exactly where the difficulty is. I then break the topic into smaller and clearer steps before we work through examples together. Once the concept is understood, we practise with questions and calculations so that the student learns how to apply the knowledge independently. For GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A-level students, lessons can also include past-paper and exam-style questions, topic-by-topic revision, calculations, identifying common mistakes and developing a better approach to exam questions. I also encourage students to explain concepts in their own words. This is a useful way to check whether something has genuinely been understood rather than simply memorised. My aim is for students to leave the lesson thinking “I understand how this works”, while also becoming more confident when solving Chemistry problems independently. I also offer targeted exam preparation for GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A-level Chemistry. We can work directly with your syllabus, identify weaker topics and practise with past papers and exam-style questions. This can include calculations, chemical equations, interpreting data and graphs, applying Chemistry to unfamiliar situations and recognising exactly what a question is asking for. When marks are lost, we look not only at the correct answer, but at why the answer lost marks and how to approach a similar question more effectively next time. My aim is to help you not only know the Chemistry, but also understand how to use that knowledge confidently in an exam.

Kseniia puts a lot of thought into her lessons and it really shows. The sessions feel personal rather than like following a fixed textbook, and she adapts the material depending on what you need to work on. I especially like that there is a good balance between learning new material and actually using it in practice.
She is easy to talk to and creates a very relaxed atmosphere, which makes it much easier to participate and make mistakes without feeling awkward. I would happily recommend her as a tutor.
I’ve known Kseniia for a long time and I would definitely recommend her as a tutor. She has a strong background in biology and neurobiology and is very good at explaining difficult topics in a clear and understandable way. She is patient, responsible and well organised, but also friendly and easy to talk to, which makes learning with her feel comfortable. She takes the time to make sure things actually make sense rather than just giving the answer. I think she would be a great tutor for anyone who wants help with biology or neurobiology.
Kseniia is extremely knowledgeable and well-prepared in her field, particularly in neurobiology. She has a strong interest and experience in the study of neurodegenerative conditions, including dementia, and her knowledge in this area is truly impressive. One of the things I appreciate most about her is her ability to explain even complex biological and scientific concepts in a very clear and understandable way. She is patient, precise, and knows how to adapt her explanations to make difficult topics much easier to understand. Her combination of experience, scientific knowledge, passion for biology, and excellent communication skills makes her a great teacher. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and highly competent biology tutor.
