About Mike
I won a scholarship to study performance and arranging for four years at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles with Joel Di Bartello (Buddy Rich, Tonight Show), Dick Grove and Jay Daversa (Stan Kenton) amongst others. Toured and recorded in the USA with Taifa Brown, King Cotton, Early Mc Allister among many others 1998 moved to Norway and worked with many well-known artists and Big Bands. 2003 moved back to the UK Over the years I worked and toured with Brotherhood of Man, Blues Brothers Show, Plan 9 Show, Kenny Jones (The Who), Mike Rutherford (Genesis), Zoot Money, Paul Young (Sad Café). Member of Jazz Funk Outfit The Big Idea”. As well as teaching privately, I have taught at West Kent College, Birkbeck College, Kingston College, Bridgewater College. I have written several books on Music Theory, Technique, Improvisation and Eartraining.
