About Toby
Hi, I'm Toby and I have recently completed my A-levels and I am a current offer holder to study Mathematics BSc at King's College London. Although I am still awaiting my final results, I'm very confident that I have achieved A* A* in my maths and further maths exams. I am very passionate about maths and I would like to use that passion to help students to study for their exams and hopefully to find a love for maths just like me. So much so that I have previously volunteered to teach maths at my local primary school where I enjoyed explaining the fundamentals of the subject to Year 5 pupils. I feel like it's a great use of my time to help students to study for their exams. I know how challenging and daunting maths can feel sometimes, but I would like to show you how you can overcome that feeling, and learn how to enjoy solving these problems and quickly turn maths into your favourite subject. It is also my aim to inspire you to continue with maths of some sort after your exams are finished as it is a skill which is highly valuable and sought after by many employers across countless career paths.

I am a firm believer that the best way to improve mathematical ability is through constant practice. Hence, my lessons would involve mainly walking through exam questions together where I can explain exactly what to look for and think about when solving problems in each specific topic. This would also be alongside explanations and visualisations of why the maths works in order to truly learn the "how and why?" behind maths to gain the knowledge to unlock the ability to solve the hardest maths problems. My lessons are aimed at A-level and GCSE students and will be 1 hour long, which I believe is the perfect amount of time to make serious progress in each lesson without burnout from working for too long. This is because learning maths is a workout for the brain and can be mentally fatiguing; it is best done in extremely frequent and highly focused sessions.
