• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  I've always been good at math as the basics came to me pretty naturally so my "interest" in math and what led me to private tutoring is just the fact that I've always helped my friends who didn't understand math.

• Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I am most confident teaching high school algebra and geometry. I've taken college algebra, precalculus, and calculus (although I don't think I'd be super helpful with calc)

• Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  My 6th-grade teacher was a really important teacher to me because she realized I was ahead of my classmates and gave me more challenging work and I appreciate that a lot.

• What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  I believe in order to be a good and effective tutor you have to be able to re-iterate concepts in different ways so that students with different learning styles, I also think patience, communication, and organization are important.

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  During high school I often finished my work early so once the teacher saw that I was done she would tell me to get up and go see if anyone needs help, and it gave me a chance to connect with my classmates and see different ways of approaching problems.

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

  I still find difficulty applying harder concepts to more complex problems but the feeling of something finally clicking after practicing for a while is nice.

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  My passion is actually art, but more specifically I love the fusion of art and technology.

• What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions?

  What makes me a Superprof is the fact that I am excited and ready to help all students to the best of my ability!
