My tutoring approach is built around creating a supportive, interactive, and personalised learning environment. Here’s a breakdown of my methodology: Techniques and Teaching Methodology • I use a blend of direct instruction, visual aids, and interactive problem-solving to break down complex mathematical concepts into manageable steps. • Each session is highly tailored to the student’s learning style—whether they benefit from visual diagrams, step-by-step worked examples, or guided practice through challenging problems. • I emphasise conceptual understanding alongside exam techniques, ensuring students not only know how to solve problems but also understand the underlying principles. • Regular assessments and feedback are integrated into lessons to identify areas needing reinforcement and to celebrate progress. Typical Length of a Lesson • Lessons are usually structured as 60-minute sessions, which provide ample time to introduce new topics, work through problems, and address any questions. • Flexibility is key—sessions can be adapted to 45 or 90 minutes if needed to fit specific learning objectives or schedules. Qualifications and Experience • I hold a strong academic background in mathematics, having earned an 8 at GCSE level in both Maths and Statistics and an A at A Level Maths. • I've used my tutoring experience to help specifically in GCSE and A-level mathematics, during which I’ve helped students achieve improved understanding and better exam results. • My experience spans both one-on-one tutoring and small group sessions, allowing me to adapt my teaching style to various learning dynamics. Who the Lessons Are For • My sessions are designed primarily for secondary school students—typically aged 14 to 18—preparing for GCSE and A-level exams. • I also welcome students who might need extra support in revising or catching up on challenging topics, as well as those looking to strengthen their foundational skills in mathematics. This approach not only aims to improve your mathematical abilities but also builds the confidence needed to tackle exam pressures and further academic challenges.
