About Joanna
I am currently a natural sciences student majoring in maths at the University of Birmingham, with four A levels including A* in maths and A in further maths. I have experience tutoring students from primary school age up to GCSE level in maths and English.

I like to personalise my teaching to each student, as I understand that different approaches work better for different students. I ask the student what topics they feel they need the most revision in and I then spend time preparing resources and activities around that topic ready for the lesson. During the lesson, I will explain anything they are unsure of related to the topic and will then give them exercises so they can practise the topic independently, while still being there to give guidance if they are struggling. Based on how well they complete the exercises, I will then give further teaching if necessary, explaining where and why they have made mistakes. I will not leave a topic until I am confident that my student understands it well and is happy with it.
