# About Me
Shwmae! I’m Deian.
Welsh is my first language and has always been an important part of my life. I’m originally from Wales and grew up speaking Welsh, so I can help you learn not only the language itself, but the natural expressions, pronunciation and everyday Welsh that you’ll actually hear people use.
I have a degree in Politics and currently work in hospitality management. A big part of my career has involved **training, coaching and developing people**, including helping new team members build their skills and confidence. I really enjoy seeing someone go from being unsure about something to feeling comfortable doing it independently.
That’s the same approach I want to bring to teaching Welsh.
I’m not here to make you memorise pages of grammar! My lessons are intended to be **friendly, relaxed and practical**, with plenty of opportunity to actually speak Welsh.
Outside of work, I’m a big football fan, enjoy travelling, food and beer culture, and I’m also learning Italian myself. Being a language learner means I understand what it feels like to know what you *want* to say but not quite have the words yet!
Whether you have Welsh family, are moving to Wales, want to reconnect with your heritage, need Welsh for work, or simply think **Cymraeg is a beautiful language worth learning**, I’d love to help.

# About Me
Shwmae!
I'm Deian, a fluent Welsh speaker originally from Wales, and I offer friendly, relaxed online Welsh lessons for anyone who wants to start learning Welsh or become more confident speaking it.
I know learning a language can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when you're faced with lots of grammar and rules straight away. My approach is to make Welsh practical, conversational and enjoyable.
Whether you're starting completely from scratch, already learning Welsh and want someone to practise with, or simply want to reconnect with the language, I'll adapt our lessons around you.

Lessons are relaxed and tailored to your ability and goals.
A beginner lesson might include some new vocabulary and phrases, pronunciation practice, a short conversation and an opportunity to use what you've learned naturally.
If you're already learning Welsh, we can spend more of the lesson simply **siarad Cymraeg** — speaking Welsh together — while I help with vocabulary, pronunciation and confidence along the way.
There's no pressure and no judgement. The aim is for you to finish each lesson feeling that you can actually **use more Welsh than when you started.**
