• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  Spanish is not only my native language; it is also a bridge between cultures, people, and opportunities. Growing up in Spain, I developed a deep appreciation for the richness of the language, its literature, traditions, and the way it connects millions of people around the world.
  
  My interest in teaching Spanish began when I started helping foreign friends communicate more confidently in Spanish. Seeing their progress and the excitement of being able to hold their first conversations motivated me to pursue teaching professionally. Today, I specialize in helping students develop practical communication skills while also discovering the cultural aspects that make the language come alive.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My greatest motivation is my students. Watching someone go from knowing only a few words to confidently expressing themselves in Spanish is incredibly rewarding. Every student's journey is unique, and being part of that transformation inspires me every day.
  
  I am also motivated by the teachers who influenced me throughout my education. They taught me that education is not just about transmitting knowledge; it is about inspiring confidence, curiosity, and lifelong learning. I strive to bring those same values into my own teaching.

• How does your work help society?

  Language learning creates understanding between people from different cultures and backgrounds. Through teaching Spanish, I help students access new educational, professional, and personal opportunities. Many of my students learn Spanish to improve their careers, travel, connect with family members, or simply broaden their horizons.
  
  I believe that communication reduces barriers and promotes mutual respect. In a globalized world, helping people communicate effectively contributes to a more connected and inclusive society.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  One of my greatest role models is Paulo Freire. His philosophy emphasized that education should empower learners and encourage critical thinking rather than simply transferring information.
  
  His approach reminds me that effective teaching is about creating meaningful learning experiences where students actively participate, gain confidence, and become independent learners. This philosophy strongly influences the way I teach Spanish today.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside teaching, I enjoy reading, travelling, and learning about different cultures. These interests help me bring authentic cultural content into my lessons and make learning more engaging for my students.
  
  I also enjoy creating educational content for social media, where I share Spanish language tips and cultural insights. This allows me to reach learners beyond the classroom and continue promoting language learning in creative ways.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One of my most memorable experiences was with a young student who initially lacked confidence and was afraid of making mistakes when speaking Spanish. We worked together consistently, focusing on communication rather than perfection.
  
  After several months, he recorded a video presentation entirely in Spanish. The transformation was remarkable—not only had his language skills improved significantly, but his confidence had grown as well. Seeing his pride and enthusiasm reminded me why I became a teacher. Moments like these make teaching incredibly meaningful and rewarding.
