About Yena
Hello! My name is Yena!!
I lived in South Korea for eight years, and even after moving to the United States, I've continued visiting Korea regularly to stay connected. Korean is my first language, and I earned an almost perfect score on the AAPPL Korean Language Assessment.
I graduated from St. Michael's Catholic Preparatory School in Austin, and will be attending Texas A&M University this fall. I also have experience teaching Korean to children in both the United States and Ukraine, which has taught me how to be adaptable to different learning styles.
I look forward to helping you build confidence and enjoy learning Korean. Let's achieve your language goals together!

I believe learning Korean should be fun and practical! I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
Each lesson is tailored to your goals, whether you're learning for travel, school, K-pop, K-dramas, or everyday conversation. A typical lesson includes a quick review, new vocabulary or grammar, and plenty of speaking practice using real-life situations.
As a native Korean speaker, I teach natural, everyday Korea (not just textbook phrases) and share cultural tips along the way. I also have experience teaching children in both the United States and Ukraine, allowing me to adapt my lessons to different ages and learning styles.
My lessons are open to kids, teens, and adults of all levels, from complete beginners to intermediate learners. My goal is to help you speak Korean with confidence while making the learning process enjoyable.
