About Zaira
I've always enjoyed languages, communication and getting to know people from different cultures. Living in both Italy and the UK has given me first-hand experience of what it's like to learn a new language and adapt to a different culture, so I understand both the challenges and the rewards that come with the process.
Teaching allows me to combine my passion for communication with my desire to help others grow in confidence. My background in Psychology has taught me the importance of patience, empathy and adapting to each person's individual way of learning, while my Master's degree in Creative Writing has strengthened my communication skills and appreciation of language.
I believe that learning should be enjoyable rather than stressful. My goal is to help students feel comfortable, supported and motivated, so they can develop their Italian naturally and with confidence.

Hi, I'm Zaira, a native Italian speaker born in Switzerland to Italian parents. I grew up in Italy and now live in the UK. I also speak English fluently, so I can support complete beginners whenever needed.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Creative Writing. Over the years, I have worked closely with both children and adults. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also supported children with their schoolwork, developing a patient, empathetic and personalised approach to teaching.
My lessons are usually one hour long and are tailored to your goals, interests and current level. Whether you want to improve your conversation skills, pronunciation, grammar, prepare for a trip to Italy, or simply become more confident speaking Italian, I'll adapt each lesson to suit your needs.
I enjoy using natural conversations, practical activities and personalised materials to make learning engaging and enjoyable. My aim is to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and progressing at your own pace. My lessons are suitable for beginners as well as learners who already have some knowledge of Italian, and I look forward to helping you achieve your goals.

My standard rate is £22 per hour for personalised one-to-one Italian lessons. Lessons are tailored to your individual goals and level, whether you're a complete beginner or looking to improve your confidence in speaking, reading, writing or listening. Lessons are available online worldwide, and I also offer in-person lessons within my local area.
