About Petra
As a German born native speaker, I grew up and was educated in Germany, and then studied at the London Design School. While my previous professional career was primarily in interior design, both in Germany and the UK, I'm currently working part time in that business, while using my skills in other areas for other work. With a lot of experience in looking after children, I do some childcare work, but with my German language background, also teach some of these children German, and am keen to do more of this.

German
I already teach German informally to 5-7 year old children whose parents came from Germany, and want the children to keep up the German language. I use a playful and interactive approach that focuses on storytelling, and cultural engagement. I teach short, frequent, and varied lessons, making it fun with games and songs. I also like to use stories in books with illustrations, e.g. German fairy tales or traditional stories from the Brothers Grimm.
