About Emily
I study English law and French law, meaning I study the law of France in French. I studied French through GCSE and A-Level, achieving an A* and I want to share my secrets!
My mum is French and I have spent a lot of time with my family in Paris and in the Alps. In my gap year before uni, I worked as a nanny for a French family in the French Caribbean. This was a great experience to experience how culturally broad French is. This also gave me teaching and tutoring experience as I had to teach the children English and help them with their homework, including helping a young child learn to read and write in French.
Even though I grew up speaking French with my family, I still found parts of learning languages hard in school, especially grammar!
I know how a good language teacher can make a massive difference. I want to make languages accessible and engaging, and show you that with the right teaching, anyone can learn a language!
I also believe that languages can be engaging for anyone, we can just talk about your interests and hobbies!

In our first session we will meet and discuss exactly what your looking to get out of our sessions together. Whether that's practicing your French speaking at any level and learning to speak like a native or mastering complicated grammar and perfecting your writing.
I'm an enthusiastic and energetic teacher. I'm really passionate about my subject and I want to help you achieve your goals. I'm also non-judgmental, I know that learning languages can be really hard and I want to help you succeed in an environment tailored and suited to you.
