About Mavis
I am a recent postgraduate graduate from the University of Queensland, and have moved to Sydney. Originally from China, I am bilingual in Chinese and English, with strong communication skills and patience in teaching. I also hold an advanced certificate in Mandarin proficiency.
As a cheerful and approachable tutor, I aim to create a relaxed and engaging learning environment for my students. Whether you are a beginner or looking to improve your fluency, I can tailor lessons to suit your needs and help you achieve steady progress in Mandarin.

For beginners, I use simple daily conversations, pinyin, and basic vocabulary to help you quickly gain confidence in speaking. For intermediate or advanced learners, I introduce grammar, idiomatic expressions, cultural context, and even professional/business Mandarin.
I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to your pace and interests—whether you are preparing for exams, improving conversational skills, or exploring Chinese culture.
