About Sylvia
Hi! I’m Sylvia — I grew up in China, completed my undergraduate degree in business in the United States, and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Speech Therapy in Australia. This unique educational and cultural background allows me to understand both Eastern and Western ways of thinking, which helps me support students from different backgrounds more effectively. As a native Chinese speaker, I have a deep understanding of modern, authentic Chinese expressions and culture. Combined with my speech therapy studies, I pay special attention to pronunciation, tone accuracy, and clear communication, helping you sound natural and confident. I believe learning a language should be practical, enjoyable, and empowering. Hi! I’m Sylvia, a native Chinese speaker and a current master's student in speech therapy in Australia. My classes focus on making Chinese learning fun, practical, and highly personalized for each student.
I believe in a communication-focused approach, helping you build confidence in speaking and listening while improving reading and writing skills as needed. With my background in speech therapy, I pay special attention to pronunciation, tone accuracy, and natural expression, which is especially important for Mandarin learners.
Teaching techniques and methodology:

• Focus on natural, authentic expressions used by native speakers
• Customized materials based on your personal goals — whether for travel, daily life, business, or social media
