About Laura
Olá! I’m Laura, 27, originally from São Paulo, though I’ve lived in different Brazilian cities before moving to London in 2020. I am fluent in English and currently learning Spanish by myself, so I understand both the challenges and joys of learning a new language. I am a calm and creative person who believes lessons should be engaging and tailored to each learner’s goals — whether that means practising conversation for travel, improving grammar for academic purposes, or exploring Brazilian culture through music, films, and traditions. Teaching has always been close to my heart; my mother was a history teacher, and I’ve often considered following her path. Tutoring Portuguese allows me to share not only my native language but also the richness, warmth, and rhythm of Brazilian culture in a way that feels personal and inspiring. My goal is to create a supportive space where students of all ages and levels can build confidence, stay motivated, and truly enjoy their learning journey.

As a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker, I create engaging and personalised lessons designed around your goals. Each class is tailored to you — whether that means practising real-life dialogues for travel, focusing on grammar and writing for exams, or exploring Brazilian music, culture, and traditions for a more immersive experience. For children, I use playful and creative methods such as songs, games, and storytelling to make learning fun and natural. Lessons usually last one hour and are flexible in pace and style, so you can build confidence and progress at your own rhythm. Suitable for all ages and levels, available online or in London.

Details
My lessons are £17 per hour, and I also offer discounted packs for those who want to commit to more regular learning: 5 hours for £80 or 10 hours for £150. This way you can save a little while keeping your progress consistent. I also like to offer a free 30–45 minute online trial session. In this first meeting, we’ll get to know each other, talk about your goals, check your level, and try a small taster activity together. It’s a great way to make sure the lessons are tailored to you from the start and that you feel comfortable with my teaching style.
