About Lehandra
Afrikaans was my favorite subject in school andI believe it's because I had amazing teachers who made sure that we understood what we learned and how to use the knowledge. I went Au Pairing in the USA for 2 years and spent 2022 working at our local primary school as a class assistant. I also helped a dyslexic boy of 10 years old with his homework in my free time during that year. In 2023 I started working as an Au Pair for a family of 2 girls who have trouble concentrating with homework, and I helped them with their homework as well as exams. As of today I'm working at a company called OVC while still studying online to be a foundation phase teacher.

I have access to different activities and test as well as reading activities regarding this subject and I have a personal love for our Afrikaans language and literature. Imake use of the South African CAPS documents to see what your child needs to know for that Term as well as what they will be graded on. I'm great working on a one on one basis with children all ages and take into considerationt the level of knowledge they already have to see what we can build on to get them to their best level possible. It's important to me that the learners understand the content as they move forward, and not just learn it like a parrot. Understanding different concepts and language rules, makes learning feel better and more fun. I like using concrete learning tools and exercises as well, as the brain better remembers information this way.
