When I'm not immersing myself in all things History, I'm normally out walking my dog (or he's walking me!), reading a good book, or road tripping to Historical sites with my friends.

I try to make my lessons as personalised as possible, dependent on the student. I love interactive lessons, e.g. a more discussion-based lesson with debates and questions, or through games to make knowledge stick. That being said, there is obviously still an important place for exam skills at GCSE and A Level, and I incorporate these activities to help build solid exam answers. My lessons are normally an hour long, but could stretch to 90 minutes depending on the topic and level. It may be necessary to do longer lessons if looking particularly at exam technique. My qualifications: History teacher for 12 years, private tutor alongside this for 2 years, History examiner for the last 5 years so I have excellent knowledge and experience in building exam skills.
