My name is Elias Garagic, I teach Trumpet and Cornet. I have played in many Jazz ensembles, big bands, and orchestras. I can and have taught students, ranging from beginner to intermediate levels.

With a lifelong dedication to the trumpet, my journey commenced in the 1st grade, inspired by the musical legacy of my father and the legendary Miles Davis. Embracing a diverse array of musical genres, I have traversed prestigious bands and orchestras spanning jazz, classical, Balkan, Middle Eastern, fusion, and hip-hop. This eclectic immersion has endowed me with invaluable insights into the multifaceted demands of trumpet performance across varied musical landscapes.
While my heart resonates deeply with jazz, my experiences in diverse ensembles have enriched my understanding of the nuanced intricacies requisite to excel in each genre. Pursuing my passion further, I pursued higher education in jazz trumpet, securing multiple scholarships in recognition of my musical prowess.
During my tenure at university in the United States, a profound realization dawned upon me: the joy of imparting knowledge and nurturing aspiring talents. I discovered immense fulfillment in guiding burgeoning players toward their musical aspirations, sharing the wealth of wisdom accumulated over years of dedicated practice and performance. Witnessing students assimilate my guidance and soar independently, refining their craft with newfound confidence, is a source of profound satisfaction.
My teaching philosophy revolves around empowering students to transcend limitations and embrace the boundless potential of their instruments. I take pride in cultivating an environment where learning is not merely a process but a transformative journey toward musical mastery.

With lesson durations typically spanning from 30 to 50 minutes, I offer a comprehensive approach to trumpet and cornet instruction. My pedagogical approach is informed by mentorship from esteemed jazz trumpet luminaries, whose tutelage has equipped me with the expertise to elevate your musicality. Recognized for my commitment to musical excellence, I was honored with a performance and portfolio-based scholarship to Drexel University for Jazz Trumpet, where I engaged in both performance and beginner-level instruction.
Welcoming students of all ages and skill levels, from novices to intermediates, I foster a supportive learning environment conducive to growth and exploration.
