About Sàvio

Hi! I’m Sávio, a classically trained singer, countertenor, and vocal coach with a deep love for musical theatre and opera. With a degree in music and years of stage experience—from Baroque operas to contemporary premieres—I’ve learned what it takes to build a voice that’s both powerful and effortless. I specialise in legit singing, the vocal tradition behind roles like Glinda in Wicked, Christine in Phantom, and the timeless characters of Julie Andrews and Disney princesses. My goal is to help singers develop a strong, free, and expressive voice, whether they’re diving into classical musical theatre or bringing a trained, polished sound to other Broadway styles. Lessons with me are practical, personalised, and technique-driven, but always in a way that makes sense for your voice. If you’re ready to explore new possibilities and sing with confidence, let’s get started!

Ever dreamed of singing like Glinda in Wicked, Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, or the iconic characters played by Julie Andrews? That’s the magic of legit singing—a style rooted in classical technique but made for the stage. And that’s exactly what I help singers develop in my lessons. With a background in opera, a degree in music, and international experience as a countertenor, I know firsthand what it takes to sing with ease, power, and expression. I use everything I’ve learned from my classical training to help singers unlock that soaring, crystal-clear legit sound—or even bring the same discipline and technique into other Broadway styles. Whether you want to nail those floating high notes, build a more effortless mix, or develop the vocal stamina for demanding roles, I tailor each lesson to your voice and goals. No stiff, one-size-fits-all approach—just real, practical guidance to help you sing with confidence and freedom. If you’re ready to find your true voice and make it shine on stage, let’s get started!

Find out more about Sàvio

  • 1) When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

I started very early, at the age of six. My family encouraged me to try many activities: horseback riding, artistic gymnastics, and opera. Out of all of them, opera chose me back. I sang my very first operatic role when I was eight, and from that moment on, music became a natural part of who I am.
  • 2) Which artists or works affect you the most?

Björk, for her originality and fearless innovation.
Ryuichi Sakamoto, for his light, minimalist, and deeply poetic aesthetic.
And Marina Lima, for how free, modern, and unapologetically authentic she has always been.
  • 3) What qualities and skills are required to succeed in this area?

Daily practice is essential. The voice works like a muscle, if you don’t train it consistently, it won’t develop or stay healthy.
  • 4) What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

Consistency and strong references are what truly shape an artist. Inspiration needs discipline to become art.
  • 5) How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

My greatest passion is everything connected to breath... how it moves through my body and transforms itself into sound. That moment is pure magic for me.
  • 6) What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

My career as a classical singer. It represents years of dedication, study, and artistic growth.
  • 7) Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

Every single day. I have many long-term students, and their continuous progress genuinely surprises and inspires me all the time.
  • 8) Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

Constant encouragement, good humor, and high energy. I always aim to motivate my students, stay optimistic, and fully trust my training and pedagogy, a modern vocal approach deeply connected to the Italian Bel Canto tradition.
