About Alison Yun-Fei
Hello!
My name is Alison, I'm a composer/pianist/musician
Currently with the Toronto Symphony (TSO) as their resident composer
I am:
- Ph.D. in music from University of Chicago, with performance, theory, composition, and research backgrounds
- Registered and certified teacher with RCM, ORMTA (Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association), CFMTA (Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Association)
- Familiar with the RCM curriculum
- With extensive experience working with students of all ages (5+) and all backgrounds
I am very patient and kind, and I believe music is for everyone.

I offer music theory and composition lessons at all levels,
and I recognize the uniqueness of each student, taking into consideration their diverse personalities, backgrounds, and learning preferences, and tailors her teaching to suit their specific requirements.
I am very patient and kind - my teaching approach is customized to meet individual needs, whether students are pursuing music for enjoyment or preparing for RCM examinations.
I believe music is for everyone, and I hope to help support you in your music-learning journey!
