About Amy
-I recently graduated from UCC with a Bachelor's in Music. -I would describe my style of playing as a Kerry/Limerick/Cork/Clare style (it is quite a mix!) -I am a multi-instrumentalist, and I currently play 6 instruments- the accordion, fiddle, flute, tin whistle, kalimba and classical piano. -I am offering Irish flute and tin whistle lessons. -I have experience in teaching these instruments. -My lessons are available both online and in-person, depending on the student's location. -My classes are open to all age groups and abilities- please don't hesitate to reach out if you would like to learn! - If possible when you reach out to me let me know what level you play at (entry level, beginner, intermediate, advanced + how many years you have been playing if applicable), what you hope to learn from the classes/any particular goals you are hoping to meet and a rough idea of when you think you would be able to do the classes! I look forward to hearing from you! *Payments must be made to the tutor at least 12 hours before the lesson is due to begin. If the student fails to pay the class fee before this time frame, the tutor reserves the right to cancel the class, even at short notice. *If the student cancels their classes more than 3 times in one month without fair reason (including any rescheduled classes), the tutor reserves the right to terminate any further lessons with the student. *If lessons are cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, there is a cancellation policy in place and you will be charged the full class cost, as that timeslot could have been offered to another student and to compensate for the time spent planning the class.

Perfect! Amy presents new tunes line by line and repeats when necessary for her learners to master that part, before moving forward. I have found it very effective. She also has a keen instinct when it comes to knowing when to go back through the first part to make sure it doesn't go out of mind while focusing on the next. The result is that the learner is able to stitch together the different parts of a tune and keep them in short term memory until you are able to lock things into long-term memory and muscle memory. She is very good at helping you identify unhelpful habits from the beginning which can save you a lot of hardship on your journey with a new instrument. She is brilliant.
Perfect! Amy is very kind and patient and takes the time to carefully explain everything to make it as easy a possible to learn and make progress!

Perfect! Amy was just the teacher I was looking forward. She is very good at explaining the technique involved to do ornaments on the whistle that I was looking to learn and she clearly knows her stuff. I would recommend her to everybody looking to learn the tinwhistle.

I met Amy through Superprof. I was a bit nervous getting in contact with a teacher at the start, being a novice at my instrument. When I started my lessons with Amy all that was washed away. She is a wonderful, patient, knowledgeable and highly professional teacher. She is consistent in her approach to the lessons, and even provides specialised practice recordings for the tunes that you work on during lessons. She communicates very clearly any changes to schedules, which happen very seldom. Her wonderful sunny personality makes you feel very welcome and at ease while you make your progress with her during classes. I highly recommend any person who wants to begin, improve or perfect their skill with an instrument to consider approaching Amy.

She challenges me just enough to keep me interested and motivated but not too much that I become overwhelmed. I have developed a real love and joy for the piano, having never previously shown any musical interest or ability. Thank you so much Amy!Amy has been teaching me the flute for 7 months now and I have improved so much. She thought me correct breathing patterns in tunes and different ornaments.
