About Yina
Born into a family of musicians, influenced by my parents and grandparents at a very young age. I began learning the Pipa at the age of six and had my first piano lessons four years later.
I was an active member of school orchestras and regularly performed at events to large audiences. In 2006 I attended Guizhou Normal University where I completed my bachelor of music degree. Later I trained as an ABRSM Theory and Aural teacher at Cristofori Music School in Singapore and worked there for many years. In 2012, I earned a full music scholarship for the Guizhou Normal University where I completed my postgraduate concert gaining my Master’s Degree in 2015.
I strive for success and attends seminars and classes given by well-known teachers such as Mr Lim Kian Yeong and Ms Zhou Shilei whom both have much experience in teaching ABRSM in Asia.
Also, I attend classes by many master Pipa players, such as Ms Zhang Ying, Pipa Supervisor at the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Mr Chen Yin, Pipa Supervisor at the China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra, Mr Zhang Qiang and Mr Jiang Yang from the Central Conservatory of Music. Ms Zhao Cong, Pipa Supervisor at China Central Chinese Orchestra. I have also gained experience by teaching and performing with many other musicians from around the world.

Having taught pipa over the last decade and ABRSM for over 8 years, I am a very passionate teacher which eager to share my knowledge with students of all ages that have an interest in this very old traditional Chinese instrument or wish to develop their knowledge in music theory.
