Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile.
My name is Matthew, and I am a Data Analytics enthusiast with an MSc in Managing Innovation and Information Technology (Distinction) from the University of Salford. I have a background in Economics and Psychology and professional experience in business operations, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring.
I am passionate about helping people develop practical skills and confidence in working with data. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have used tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau to analyse data, create reports, and support business decision-making. As a Postgraduate Student Mentor at the University of Salford, I support students from diverse backgrounds in achieving their academic goals.
Outside of data analytics, I coach and enjoy football, youth development, community engagement, and continuous learning. I believe everyone can learn analytical skills with the right guidance, patience, and support, regardless of their starting point.
My goal is to create a positive and encouraging learning experience where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their confidence, and achieving measurable progress. I specialise in Data Analytics, Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Business Intelligence concepts. My teaching approach focuses on hands-on learning rather than just theory. Students will work through real-world examples, practical exercises, projects, and case studies that help build confidence and develop job-ready skills.
For university students, I can also provide support with assignments, research projects, dissertations, data analysis techniques, and presentation of findings. For professionals, I focus on helping you understand how data can be used to solve business problems, create dashboards, analyse trends, and support decision-making.
As a recent MSc graduate with Distinction from the University of Salford and a Postgraduate Student Mentor, I understand the challenges students face and adapt my teaching style to suit different learning needs. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills at their own pace.
