About Owen
I work as a microbiologist in England most of the year but each winter I go to Austria to help train snowboard instructors
Currently stuck in Austria with little else to do but zoom tutoring online due to lockdown!
Biology is my passion and I love genetics especially. I like to think that my excitement for the subject genuinely gets others interested. A girl who I tutored for 2 years through A levels not only achieved fantastic results but also went on to decide to be a vetenarian thanks to our sessions. (her words)

My teaching methods are really tailored to the students needs. I won't exhaust the student with information but I will keep explaining a particular concept in different ways until I'm certain they are comfortable with the subject and understand it clearly.
If my student struggles to understand something, I believe it is my responsibility to present the information in a more suitable, specific to that student.
I work mainly with previous exam papers. Different exam boards have different ways in which they would prefer the student to answer questions, so it is important for the student to know the kind of answers the exam markers are looking for. Understanding the concepts is one thing but of course, results are also important and this is how we achieve them.
