About Lacey
I am a Chemistry tutor with over 4 years of experience and an MSc in Analytical Chemistry. My passion lies in the chemistry of natural products and biomolecules. I explore secondary metabolites, natural dyes, flavours, and biologically active compounds found in nature. I guide students in understanding the extraction and isolation of these molecules from living organisms. Structural elucidation techniques form a key part of my teaching, helping learners see how chemistry reveals nature’s secrets. I combine theory with practical examples to make complex concepts accessible and engaging. My approach encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on problem solving. Students gain confidence in analysing, interpreting, and connecting chemical data. I also focus on the broader applications of natural product chemistry in medicine, food, and industry. Together, we uncover the fascinating chemistry hidden in the natural world. Every session aims to inspire students to explore and appreciate nature’s chemical wonders.
